HOUSING 2016 - What Can Be Accomplished in the next 8 years
January 12- The Chicago Rehab Network hosted a forum to discuss community-based solutions to the housing crisis. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky discussed the upcoming economic recovery program, and two panels of economists, community leaders, and housing analysts discussed the current climate and possibilities.
CRN Celebrates Community Development Leaders
April 20- CRN honored 34 graduates of the 2007 and 2008 Community Development and Empowerment Series. Congratulations to all and we wish our graduates much success and look forward to their ongoing impact on the community development field. Registration is still open for the remaining sessions of this year's series.
April 29, 2009 - CRN provides testimony on the state of Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program, Draft of 2010 State Plan
The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) was one of the many programs to gain funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The program, operated through the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), received an additional $242.5 million in funding
In light of additional funding, CRN urges DCEO to ensure that renters benefit from weatherization and energy investments. Currently, owners of multifamily buildings must provide half of weatherization costs, which means residents will continue to bear the high cost of utilities.
February 17, 2009 - President Obama Signs Stimulus Bill
President Obama signed the much anticipated and debated American Recovery and Reinvestment Act this afternoon. This economic investment totals $787 billion but what will it mean for affordable housing?

August 24, 2006--Chicago Rehab Network receives major MacArthur Foundation grant

When the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation decided to honor nine organizations with its new "Creative and Effective Institutions" awards, only two U.S.-based groups were chosen. The Chicago Rehab Network was one of those groups.
